Byline Product Terms
Subscription, cancellation, refund, Ink, approved publishing, and product-specific rules for Byline plans.
Last updated: May 18, 2026
1. Plans and feature availability
Byline offers Free, Pro, Digital, and any future or custom plans shown in the product, on the pricing page, or in an order form. Plan descriptions are for the current service and may evolve as features are added, retired, limited, or changed by third-party platforms.
Some features require connected platform accounts, platform approval, specific platform permissions, an active paid plan, sufficient Ink, or an external account level such as an X subscription tier. Supported connected platforms may include X, LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, and other platforms shown in the product. If a platform changes a permission or rate limit, feature behavior may change without prior notice.
2. Free plan
The Free plan is intended for evaluation and light use. It may include lower limits, fewer platforms, fewer Smart Scans, limited content-planning or publishing capacity, and reduced access to analytics, review tools, and advanced agents.
Byline may modify, throttle, or discontinue Free plan limits prospectively, especially to prevent abuse, excessive costs, or platform risk.
3. Subscription billing
Paid subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. By purchasing a subscription, you authorize recurring charges through Lemon Squeezy or the payment provider or merchant of record shown at checkout, and you agree to the checkout terms presented by that provider.
Standard online checkout may offer pricing in U.S. dollars (USD) or Saudi riyals (SAR), unless a checkout page or written order says otherwise. Prices exclude taxes unless checkout states otherwise. Lemon Squeezy may calculate, collect, and remit applicable checkout taxes for purchases it processes. Failed payments may cause loss of paid features, publishing, planning workflows, or access until billing is resolved.
4. Cancellations and renewals
You may cancel renewal at any time from billing settings or the billing portal. If you cancel, paid features remain active through the end of the current paid billing period, then your account downgrades to the Free plan unless otherwise stated in a written agreement.
Deleting content, disconnecting a platform account, or uninstalling a platform app does not cancel a subscription. You must cancel through billing settings or contact support if you cannot access the billing portal.
5. Refunds
For an initial subscription purchase, refund requests made within 14 days may be reviewed case by case. Review may consider applicable law, the payment provider's rules, the reason for the request, technical issues, fraud risk, refund abuse, and whether the service, Ink, credits, exports, publishing capacity, or other digital value was used or consumed.
Byline may decline discretionary refunds where an account has substantially or fully consumed the purchased plan, included Ink, purchased Ink, credits, exports, publishing capacity, or other digital value, unless a refund is required by applicable law or approved by the payment provider or merchant of record.
Renewals after the initial subscription purchase, purchased Ink packs, overage usage, plan upgrades, and partial months are generally non-refundable unless required by law or approved by the payment provider or merchant of record. This policy does not limit statutory refund, withdrawal, chargeback, or consumer rights that cannot be waived.
Where applicable law gives you withdrawal rights that can be limited only by express consent and acknowledgment for immediate access to digital content or services, Byline will seek the required consent before immediate service starts, including through Lemon Squeezy's checkout where applicable. If required consent is not captured, your statutory withdrawal rights continue to apply even if Ink or digital value has been used.
Approved refunds may result in immediate downgrade, removal of unused credits, reversal of plan features, or termination of access to refunded digital value. Refund requests may be made through the billing links provided by Lemon Squeezy, through the merchant of record shown on your receipt, or by contacting Byline support.
6. Ink credits
Byline meters AI-assisted product usage in Ink. Included monthly Ink resets each billing cycle and does not roll over unless a specific offer says otherwise. Purchased Ink packs roll over until used unless an offer states a different expiration rule.
Using all or substantially all included or purchased Ink is treated as substantial consumption of digital value for refund review. This does not limit refund rights that cannot be waived under applicable law or the payment provider's rules.
Ink estimates are provided for planning and may differ from final usage based on source availability, processing path, retries, media processing, research depth, platform calls, and cancellation timing. Byline may block or pause a job when available Ink is insufficient.
7. Approved publishing and content workflows
Byline is built so content must be reviewed and approved before publication. You are responsible for checking each post, thread, response note, media attachment, poll, link, destination, disclosure, and scheduled time before approval.
Publishing and scheduling features, where available, depend on platform availability, valid OAuth tokens, rate limits, account status, and platform rules. A planned or scheduled post can fail or be delayed for reasons outside Byline's control.
For LinkedIn, any publishing or scheduling workflow must be user-reviewed, user-approved, and available only where LinkedIn grants the applicable permissions and allows the workflow.
8. Connected accounts and permissions
Byline requests only the platform permissions needed to support the enabled features, such as reading profile details, preparing or publishing approved posts where permitted, reading metrics, or supporting response-review workflows when you use them. Available permissions vary by platform and plan.
Before connecting a platform account, review the platform authorization screen, the permissions requested, and the related Byline notices. You can withdraw a platform authorization by disconnecting the account in Byline settings or from the platform's own app settings.
You must only connect accounts that you own or are authorized to manage. If a client, employer, or platform revokes your authorization, you must disconnect the account from Byline promptly.
9. AI, research, and source material
Byline may use public web pages, public platform content, user-provided links, uploaded files, YouTube transcripts, RSS feeds, news sources, analytics, brand instructions, and approved historical content to generate research briefs and drafts.
Generated output should be treated as a draft. You must verify factual claims, quotes, statistics, source attribution, regulated claims, and statements about third parties before publishing.
10. Beta and future features
Some features may be experimental, invite-only, in beta, or dependent on platform review. Beta features may be changed, paused, or removed and may have lower reliability or shorter retention than generally available features.
11. Support
Support is available at support@byline.work. Paid plans may receive higher-priority support as described in the product, but response times are not guaranteed unless a separate written agreement says otherwise.
